You really bring back great memories. To think we could go to Wolfcreek, have a ball, and never fear that harm could come to you.

Where, exactly? We used to hike and play in the area just off Free Pike, past Denlinger toward trotwood. We'd start walking up at the Precious Blood convent pond, which fed into that creek that traveled across Denlinger (up by Heatherton, I think was the name) then follow it all the way down to wear it crossed Free Pike. There were big (to us, anyway) cliffs in that section, which we'd climb up and down.
I loved that whole are. Now its ruined by highways.

same Place you all played, I lived off Denlinger and free pike in Northgate sub division. We climbed up a lot of cliffs and also we played near Gardendale School, Wolf creek ran along there. I'm 50 so it had to be around 1969 to 1978 or so. It stared to get bad around wolf creek so we stop hanging around there.

The best years were in the 50's. No problems with anyone. Was there a train trestle on Wolf Creek? The water was deeper there & thats where many of us went swimming.

This is strange. Wonder if we'd all recognize one another?

You never know there was a lot of kids around the creek all playing together. Riding bikes on the trails along the creek was fun! We were in our own world back then. Or trying to catch fish by our hands that was great!

Dave5838- I think you are talking about the one we called Black Bridge. There was a deep spot under it and just a bit upstream from there. You could jump off it if you were crazy enough. Some did. Not me. They were talking about up in Trotwood which was way upstream. Up from Black bridge was the one we called White Bridge. It was at Gettysburg Ave. They used to swim there also. Upstream from that was the gravel pit. The creek used to be part of it but they were digging at another point so we swam there too. I remember the water was so thick you could only see a few inches in front of your face. I was surprised when the mention of fishing in wolf creek was mentioned. The Wolf Creek Soap company was located downstream from black bridge. They emptied their waste into the creek. I was told not to eat anything out of there. Of course they were many miles downstream from Trotwood. It has since been closed and the creek cleaned up. That was my old playground. When I was younger I always wondered if you could put a canoe or small boat in Wolf Creek and make it to the Gulf of Mexico. I knew the Creek from around Gettysburg to where is emptied into the Miami River near First Street.
