Thank you for your response delirious1. Actually, my mother was not ON a grand jury -her mysterious death was, or so we were told, part of what was looked at by a grand jury held in Dec 1969, which was, apparently held to see if the hospital should be held liable for several incidents that year. But I will contact you directly with information should you wish more.

Dear wolfcreek - If you still live in the Dayton area, the Dayton Library has newspapers archived and a very fine, helpful staff. You could, quite likely, find the information about Tom there with a little digging, should you really want to know.

Thanks Lynda Mae. In all honesty, I'm not sure I want to know, you know? Maybe best left alone.

In the early 70's my friend and I would go fishing at the lakes at the mental hospital.

People still fish in that pond and duck watch. They have kept that entire area very nice. When building Hospice they worked a view of the pond I believe, of part of the pond on one side of building which gave some patients a nice view. Driving down Wilmington ave the other day I remembered a building across from the hospital that was part of the hospital which may have been a drug and alcohol treatment center. Seems it was a brick, single level and where condos are now. Does anyone remember this building or its use?
