Believe NCR was the largest locally. We used to call it seal island. Other pools that we went to to were Phillips pool, Dabel pool which was behind Kramers bar on Irving ave and many others. No shortage on places to swim but try to find one now!

In addition to the great swim places there were lots of places to skinny-dip and we did so quite a bit.

I have observed most of these on my last visit, and nowadays I wouldn't put a toe in them. All of these places were alive with minnows, water striders, etc.; but nowadays there is no trace of life. That's warning enough for me.

I went to Eastview on Bayside Drive. Great summer memories!

Check this one; West side N Findlay about a block north of 3rd St. Used to look gigantic to a 10 year old in 1935. Have no idea of when it emptied the last time and don't recall it's name? Used to give each customer a metal tag to claim his/her outerware that was stuffed in a metal locker. I thought I was a goner one time when a big kid pushed me in at the 4' marker but about the 3rd time I pushed off the bottom and yelled like crazy, someone grabbed my hair and stood me on the tile, concrete(?) so I could later experience the same thing at the swimming hole that the Huffman dam made on the upriver side ajacent to Huffman Prearie(sp?) where Orville and Wilbur honed their wings.

I too went to Eastview Pool. They played WING over the loud speaker and every hour had 15 minutes for the adult only swim. Loved every minute of those summers. Danced my first "slow" dance at one of their evening swim parties.

I remember Phillips Pool. But I don't know where it eas located in Dayton. I use to live on Earlham Drive a very long time ago. We moved to Florida when I was small.
