Since we have new people on here, I'm gonna ask about this again. I can't believe no one remembers these parties or groups???
Back in the late 60's there were some Friday night parties hosted by a group called the POETS Society that was for just about anyone to join and another called PRO POETS Society that supposedly you had to be a professional or at least a college grad to belong.
They had various events, swimsuit fashion shows, cocktail parties, etc. Kind of upscale, nice clothes, etc. NOT beer bashes.
In case you don't know, POETS stood for P--s On Everything, Tomorrow's Saturday.
I KNOW I am not dreaming this up. I was an escort for the models at one of the swimsuit parties. (now THAT was a fun night)
ANYONE REMEMBER THESE??? Please prove I'm NOT crazy.

Sounds like one of those things that was hush-hush as far as mom was concerned (LOL). My four kids were in high school during the 60's & 70's.

This was a BIG thing around 69-70. Can't believe no one else went to them.

I wish I had, but I was born a generation too late! That figures.

I went to UD in the late sixties. P.O.E.T.S. held dances at the Christopher Club on S. Dixie. I lived on Wayne Ave. and the guys in the house had a band that played at these dances. During band breaks I DJ'd playing oldies.

KUB - that is exactly right. The one night that sticks out in my memory is like I said, they had a swimsuit modeling show and it was indeed down on S Dixie someplace. Now that you mention the Christopher Club, that sure sounds familiar. Do you remember that show? This was probably in 69-70.
I worked as a computer operator for MISCO (McCalls Information Services Co) in a multi story building on UD campus about 1967-68 that was next to Stewart St and probably just E of the parking lot at Stewart and Zehler Ave.
