Help!
What was the name of the go cart track on Linden Ave next to Pla-Mor Bowling ?
Everyone knows the place, but can't remember the name!
No sleep for me (or the other 25 people I've asked) until we find out.

As teens we went there all the time, but never knew the name. We just called it the go cart track next to Pla-Mor.

Wasn't there a golf driving range right beside of the track?

Smiley's Baseball and Golf Range is still there at 4740 Linden Avenue and is open everyday from 10 A.M - 10 P.M., and it is directly across the street from the old go cart track which you can still see when they mow the weeds down.

Played on golf team at Chaminade in 1958-59. I remember he was a freshman and played No. 2 on our team. Kevin Must who was the club pro at Community golf course played No. 1. Both were great golfers and I think Gary turned pro also. "GREAT MEMORIES"

Hey all - that old track is for sale these days. It's in rough shape, but the asphalt's still there; you can see it from the Google satellite shot. Just sayin'...

I know its not the same location this thread started with. But I do recall a go cart track on Gettysburg Ave. Between Little Richmond Rd and Cornell Dr. There was a florist on the corner (Cooper's I think) of Gettysburg and Little Richmond. The track was next to that building and sat back off the road just a bit.

Mark1984, that go-kart track belonged to my Uncle DeVoe. He and my aunt owned the florist. It was called Turpin's Florist. My uncle loved racing and he put in that go-kart track. It was fun for a while but then people had to ruin it. After getting robbed a few times and punks jumping over the fence and riding the go-karts without paying, he closed it down.

Mark 1984 - I forgot to add that my aunt and uncle sold the florist to Caesar and Mildred Cooper and retired to Florida. Mildred ran the business as Cooper's Florist with her son up until her death a few years ago. I went by there last summer and it is sitting empty now.

Mark & Carla - On these types of topics, I love looking up the location on Google Maps, and checking out the street view to see what the place looks like. Google has added an image date to the street views, which really helps.

Viewing the side of the building from Little Richmond (image dated Sept 2007), the building still had the Cooper's Florist sign. Viewing the building from southbound Gettysburg (image dated July 2011), the sign is gone, but there are a couple of floral pieces in the window and on the door. Viewing the building from northbound Gettysburg (image dated Oct 2011), the floral pieces are gone (and there is a van parked beside the building).

In the birds eye view (undated), it looks the there was a business there called Stromas Flowers & Gift Shop, and there were cars in the parking lot. YellowPages indicates this as a Closed business, presumably before July 2011.

Sorry I'm veering off topic (again), however there is a good view of the old go-kart track in the birds eye view.

Thanks KennyE11, my aunt and uncle lived in a house directly behind the business on Little Richmond Road. But the house burned down several years ago.
