I remember going to Eastwood Lake and going ice skating. They had 'patrol' ice skaters there, a huge wood-burning barrel with a great, warm, fire. We loved going there because we knew it was fairly safe and had been checked to make sure the depth of the ice was deep enough for ice skating.
