Seems like most of the area either worked at NCR or Fridgidaire. Went with many neighbors or friends to Old River to Swim also to Christmas programs and fireworks. Eventually worked myself at the cash twice. Was long gone by the time an outside union replaced the independent union. What people were thinking have no idea. Funny thing is those who helped get the new union in were somehow losing their jobs. Guess they questioned their loyalties and lost their jobs soon after. Some had been acquaintances of mine and they couldn't believe it had happened to them.

I guess we knew someday that would come no surprize.
I worked sugar camp and one summer bldg one messenger boy. Loved it. Finally went into manufacturing in another Dayton plant since also gone.
