Used to enjoy the band concerts at the Diehl Band Shell from home. We lived down the river and it acted like a megaphone for us. Played with the Municipal Band a few times. The last time was the 4th of July concert in '72. Left for the Army 2 days later. Will never forget playing Sousa marches under Don Bassett, a member of Sousa's band after his Marine Corps days. Sure miss that time, and Dayton.
