Forward
Although this book focuses on the Waves that came to Dayton during World War II, I want to ackowledge the work the male enlisted Electronic Techinicians and Machinist Mates, as well as the NCR engineers, did during World War Two. The success in the Bombe project was a team effort and I have every respect for the men and women involved, both civilian and military.
I want to thank the many people that are responsible for helping make this book possible. Former Waves that were stationed in Dayton, Ohio during World War II were kind enough to allow me to interview them during their 50th year reunion, even though I’m sure they would much rather have been catching up on the lives of friends they hadn’t seen for almost a half century.
And a special thanks to Debbie Anderson. Without her encouragement this book would never have been written.
