Did Dayton (Cincinnati?) have a locally produced teen dance program, similar in format to American Band Stand, back in the late 50s/early 60s. Seems like I remember watching a program like this, just can't remember any details.

I remember something like that too. I know it was in Cincinnati and I picture Nick Clooney in the Dick Clark role.

The Coca Cola Co.in Dayton used to have a dance thing on Saturdays I believe. One of the TV stations, channel 7? also had a show called Rising Generation and those who thought they had talent could perform on there. A group of my friends who sang together got on there and we sat in front of the tube to see our famous friends. As great as they sounded on most occassions, they were horrible on that show. Needless to say we all were embarrassed including them.

The one in Dayton was called Disco-2 and was hosted by Johnny Gilbert around the time he had his weekday talk show.

Dewey Hopper also hosted a swim/dance show at the motel next to channel 2. I remember Johnny Gilbert and also a Dave Clark who hosted a show that was like Phil Donahue but before Phil. Phil took it over and it was named for him. The rest.... television history.

I attended a Saturday (I believe afternoon) dance show at the Coca-Cola offices in Cincinnati, in the late 50's.
