Believe they delivered Charlie Chips and also pretzels to your door.Believe I have an old can in my garage that I store nails and other odds and ends in.
Charlie Chips were in the yellowish can and the Pretzels were in the brown one. We use to get all excited when he would bring the candy up to the door on what I remember as a flat board. This all took place in Centerville in the mid 60's.
I remember the Charlie Chips guy well. I don't recall the actual driver's name. But I remember the truck he drove. He always brought in a large wicker basket full of candy and caramel popcorn. I always drooled over it. But Mom always got the two tins of potato chip. 1 plain and 1 barbecue. This was in Trotwood in the early 70s. Are they still in business anywhere? I've seen the tins turn up a few times at flea markets and antique shows.
Yes, they are still in business. Found this website, so they might be mail order only. But I did see them at Cracker Barrel a couple of years ago. http://www.charleschips.com/shop-chips.php
