Hello Everyone!

I'm new here, hope I learn my way around.
Does anyone remember the local group in Dayton that was called "Bramble"?

I would like to try to locate some of their music, I know they never actually made a record, but they did have some music recorded. My brother love them so much and I would like to get copies for his enjoyment.

Thanks,
Peachz

Bramble was 1 of 10 local bands that recorded songs on the WTUE Home Grown album in 1980. Their song on the album was Artifical Lust. The spelling may be incorrect, but I am looking at the album as I am typing.

Listed below are the songs and the artists on the album:

Side One:
1. Don't You Wait Too Long (Michael Hutmier)
2. Take Me (Beowulf)
3. Don't Take Me For A Fool (Winkler - Magruder Band)
4. Finding My Way Home (Dale Walton's Second Wind)
5. Ooh Lady (Bearcreek Band)

Side Two:
1. Celestial Horses (Flyweil)
2. Artifical Lust (Bramble)
3. Looks Like Rain (Cracker)
4. Rock 'N Roller (Nitewing)
5. Spirit (Nobody Home)

I listened to the album tonight "...Artificial Lust, 40 inch bust and all..." was the key part of that song.

Peachz, thanks for the question! You might find the album at The Second Time Around on Brown St. or at one of the local flea markets.

I remember Bramble. A good friend of mine was at Sylver's night club on Waterviliet (now Carpenters)around 1981-82 when they performed live there and WTUE was broadcasting the show. I still have the 8 track tape when my buddy called me and asked me to record it. "Artifical Lust, 40 inch bust and all......" Also "Oh, I, Love Southern Boogie it's true...." God rest his soul. He passed away two years ago but there was hardly ever a time when we didn't blurt out one of those two songs.

The trio of homegrown bands, Bramble, Dale Walton, and Beowulf, were definitely on my short list of concerts to see in the day..and, Bramble was the best of the lot, imo...

Kyle Augie and some others that played in Bramble are now in a Irish Group called "Dulahan". check out their website at; www.dulahan.com and find out where they are playing. Then ask them to play a song from Bramble. They will freak out.

"I spend my days in bed and my nights in bars, I like Jack Black whiskey and friendly guitars, I don't do much of nothin' but I will Southern Boogie for you...." "Better days are comin', I can see them up ahead...."

I was also wondering about Bramble, my parents knew Kyle and we had a record of there's forever ago, is there anyway to get their music now? I know my parents and I would love a blast from the past, if I could find anything. Thanks

I have several copies of Bramble's only record, if you have a turntable. All 7 Dulahan albums are available on iTunes. If you liked Kyle's early stuff, you will like Dulahan

Hi all,
I had to take the last two posts down due to copyright policies. Please do not link to anything unless you have the copyright to the item in question.
Thanks,
