I remember going to Flink. They had the best hamburgers around. Does anyone have the recipe? I would love to try to make it. We went there back in 60's-70's.

Cindy,

Go to the Dayton 60's and 70's section and ask if anyone remembers or if anyone has the recipe....sometimes there are people on there who know people who know people. Good luck, Cindi/class of 73-Butler

I'm guessing that you are referring to Flint's Hamburgers in Englewood. If so, it was built sometime back in the mid-to-late 1960's by Bob Flint, the owner of Flint's IGA. It's signature burger was a quarter pounder named the "Dandy Boy" (later renamed "Big Dan"). Many of the kids from Northmont High School hung out there after class. I believe the building now serves as the home of a beauty salon.

Yes, there was a Flints on N. Main street. It was still in business my 8th grade year in 1969 and for a while afterwards. I loved the 3 dimensional star shaped sign. It rotated and reminded me of a Christmas ornament. They had chicken in there too which reminded me a little of Parkmoors. I like it more then their burgers.

I remember Flints in Trotwood back in the mid 60's. We would hang out there after school and on the week ends. Can't remember how good the food was...

That rotating star sign was so cool, and so sixties! It should be in a museum somewhere!

I remember leaving school{Northmont HS} and busting our butts to get to Flint's. Remember Mini and Delores? I'll bet they hated us.

I remember the Flint's in Trotwood. My only real memory of the food was that I got a fishbone stuck in my throat one time when I had a fish sandwich.

My sister used to work at the Flints in Trotwood in the 60s. It was on Main Street across from Broadmoor Elementary. I loved their hamburgers. It later changed to an Arbys but now is vacant.

I was one of the initial employees when Flint's opened on Gettysburg Ave. near Hillcrest. I think I made $1.10/hr. as a sandwich maker at age 17. We had a blast working there. I think it is now a Hook's BBQ. There was also a store in Greenville. Anyone know where I can get a photo of the store when it was still Flint's? One of the managers at our store was Joe Rench and as I recall the franchise was associated with Pat's Tasty Boy.

I remember the Flint's on Gettysburg Ave. I grew up in Greenwich Village and my sister and I or a friend would walk there to get a burger or shake. This was in the late 60's, early 70's. We walked everywhere back then, it was a different, safer world.
