I'm only 36 years old, but I have a question... I've been trying to either confirm or deny if the Chinese Restaurant in the Salem Mall back in the 80's and early 90's was in fact Panda Express. I swear it was, because I remember the Panda bear on the sign, but my Dad swears it was Mark Pi's. Was it both at one time maybe. You know the one, when you were walking into the food court, it was over on the right hand side about halfway back or so. And why we're on the subject of restaurants in that area. Does anybody else remember the Bill Knapps, the Western Sizzlin', and the Brown Derby that was in the mall as well? Those were the days......

Yeah driver62, I definitely do remember that one as well on Needmore. I live in Vegas now, and every time I see a Panda Express, I instantly think of being at the Salem Mall as a kid. That's why I'm "pretty sure" that it was indeed a Panda. Which is ironic if it is a Panda Express, because there is none of those in Dayton now that I know of. I think there might be one in Mason or something though......

Definitely remember Bill Knapps as it was one of the places the after church crowd would go to. We went to the one out on Indian Riffle near Stroop rd.There also was a Brown Derby out in a plaza on Bigger Rd. near Whipp. My daughter worked there for a short time.

There was a Mark Pi's upstairs in the Town and Country shopping center and believe it may still be there.

Yeah, that one on Indian Ripple was the last one in Dayton. I know that when I moved back from Vegas the first time, and worked for Hobart, they sent me there in 2001 or so to fix a dishwasher or something. So I know that it was there up until at least 2001.

Oh trust me, I remember that Arby's quite well, as it was the only 24 hour one around. I spent many nights sitting in their parking lot (door locked of course) chowing down on some good mood food, LOL......
