There was a drive in restaurant down on Patterson blvd. somewhere near the area of BHA and I believe the name was Johnsons or Johnstons. Seemed as though it was open into the early morn hours. Could have the name wrong but think of it every time I drive into downtown. Think a Bluebird Pie company and a bread company were also in area along with a Coke company. Any info would be appreciated as it will help me know I haven't totally lost it.

There is a picture here on the site that shows a Bob's Drive-In Restaurant there in the 1950s. Perhaps it became Johnsons? Anyhow, go here http://www.daytonhistorybooks.com/albums/album_image/7179268/5753370.htm . Or go to the Site search and put in Bob's drive-in. Make sure to search for the Exact Phrase and two places will come up you can click on and see them.

Johnson's Drive-In is listed at 827 S. Patterson and Bob's Drive-In is at 872 S. Patterson in the 1955 Telephone directory. Bob's also had another location at 121 E. Dixie, W. Carrollton. Both Johnson's and Bob's S. Patterson location also appeared in the 1960 City Directory but neither was listed in the 1964 Telephone directory. I personally do not recall either of these restaurants.

If it was Tops Spin, a picture of that restaurant is here, too. http://www.daytonhistorybooks.com/albums/album_image/7179268/5753369.htm
Or "Exact Phrase" the words Tops Spin in the Site Search engine and it will come up.
