There was a restaurant that was in the area and don't remember what the exact location was. Thought one was in the area Wilmington and Dorothy Lane around where GFS is now. Nothing fancy but it had a silliness about it which included the menu. Family fair mostly and fun place to go. Was short lived, but wondered if anyone else remembered the place?

luv, Not sure of the Dayton location but they were a chain around many states. It was almost like a Cracker Barrel. They served the drinks in Mason jars. The food was very good. I particularly remember the chicken and dumplins' and the fried catfish.

The Po Folks on Wilmington was located in the old Country Kitchen facility which is the current GFS location. Right down the road from another good restaurant that is now gone, Mrs. Winners.

Wasn't there also a "Ground Round" restaurant in that general location at some point?

I believe there was a Ground Round nearby now that you mention. It was possibly in the old Shakey's Pizza facility.

What is a GFS? Shakey's was next door to the Kitchen, right?

Gordon Food Service, a discount bulk food and restaurant supply store. Yes, Shakey's was next to the Country Kitchen.

If I remember right, the Kitchen's parking lot was higher than Shakey's and there was a chain link fence separating them. I hate to think how much time I spent and how many cokes I drank sitting backed in at that fence in my corvette, usually with the top down and sitting on the back deck lid. AHHH those were the days. Remember ordering 7 up's and putting Slo Gin in them and saying it was a cherry 7'up?

Was the Ground Round the place where they had the baskets of peanuts in shell and you just ate them and shells were thrown on the floor? Had forgetton about the Ground Round and not sure if I ever went to this Sharkeys. Many restaurants came and went on the property over the years.

Po Folks was located where the old Country Kitchen used to be back in the 60s!
