There was a Sandy's on Linden - right near the curve.
My grandmother moved to Kettering in late 1965, and we
always ate Hi-Lo double cheeseburgers from the Sandy's
on Marshall, near Stroop.

There was one on Woodman Drive right across the Airway Shopping Center. That's the one I went to as a kid. It later became a Hardee's (in about 1973 or so).

I remember sandys. they were a chain and if memory serves they had locations in other city's as well. I cant recall ever eating there very much but I think they had 10-12 locations around dayton at one time. (maybe more)

Wasn't there a Sandy's on Marshall? At the curve just off Wilmington Ave. Also, didn't they have nickle hamburgers. I felt they were trying to take on White Castle.

Burger Chef...this link was in a past, now locked thread for those who have not seen it

ate at the Sandy's across from Airway Shopping Center. They seemed to have the best burgers and fries back in the 60s and early 70s. I think the one I ate at went out in '73 or so ... they were replaced by Hardee's. Yuk...this was posted by JeffN on another thread.

pie8me...Thanks for that great Burger Chef link. That link led me to this link for Red Barn. There are a few pictures of a Dayton Red Barn on this one.
