Was out at Hara Saturday for the 'New Dayton Gems' open house. The Gems inaugural season begins in October. Hara spruced up a bit with fresh paint and new glass for the return of the Gems. Guy Trottier from the old Gems is director of Operations.
So Guy is here. I believe Moe Benoit still lives in the area. Pat Rupp passed away a few years ago. Anyone know the whereabouts of any other members of the old Gems?

My favorite "Baby Bruin" was Sid Garant. I also wondered what happened to him ... I don't think he ever made it to the NHL.

I caught a Gems game Thanksgiving weekend. It was a lot of fun to go back to Hara!

Does anyone go to the Demonz games? I've been to a couple when I'm in town...still love the atmosphere at Hara.

Riverdale Rat, Those Cincy Royals were some nostalgia. It'd be great to have that return, but you know Cincinnati is just not a basketball town, at least at that level. The market is just too small.

I bet those old Gems would be in their 70s James. I'd love to know how they're doing. I was a big fan when I was a kid.
