I remember the businesses of Rankin Radio and TV and Rankin and Houser. What does anyone remember about the businesses? (e.g., location(s),owners, employees, products, etc.). I can be emailed at cathywells1025@gmail.com. Thank you!

For some reason, I want to say W. 3rd St. Not sure. You can check the city directories down at the main library. Down in the lower level. Section of the directories has an alphabetical listing of businesses.

The name of the place is ringing bells. I just can't recall for sure where I saw it. Wish I could help you more. Someone on here will see it and maybe know more then I do. The city directories is the best source I know of>

I remember Rankin & Houser electronics on Dryden Rd, all kinds of electronics parts ans supplies, of course I worked at Stotts Friedman Rankin had everything and if they didn't they would find it for you. Dee was very helpful and the business moved to E. River Rd I have no idea what they are doing now, I had heard mostly alarm systems Dee had a very pretty sister who worked in the store. They were top notch people !

Rankin Radio & Tv
Yes, it was on W. Third St. Closed sometime late 80's...
The building still stands, it is now a bail bonds business.

Rankin & Houser was in Moraine, sold tv and antenns parts.
Gone for many years also.

Rankin & Houser isn't gone, they're now in the alarm business, I talked to one of their guys yesterday. I got an email from Jerry Rankin last week (his dad, Marshall Rankin started the company with Al Houser).

Rankin sounds familiar to me as well. I think they put up the antenna tower and rotatable TV antenna my Dad had installed in the late 60s. With that rascal we could watch channels from Columbus, Cincy, Indy, and on ocassion Lexington, Huntington and other cities

I know Jerry haven't seen him in a while. He used to come in my restaurant years ago. Very nice man and Jerry had a sister who was "DROP DEAD GORGEOUS".

joey m..... that throws me.... I worked with Jerry's brother and his Dad(Marshall Rankin), I spent lots of time at his Dad's house and was usually there around most of the holidays, but as far as I know there was just Jerry and his brother, Karl. If there was a sister, they managed to keep it a secret from me for at least 15 years .

Steve K It's been a long time ago but I just remember going into their shop when it was on Broadway and a girl waited on me and I was told it was the owners daughter. And when they moved to E. River Rd. that same girl worked there. Whether it was his sister or not I just know she was "DROP DEAD GORGEOUS". GREAT MEMORIES

My Dad, Julian Tangeman was a plumber back in the 40s and 50s and I remember him doing a plumbing job for Mr. Rankin and Mr. Houser. When the job was completed Mr. Houser gave Dad a special price on a large (for the time)screen TV. Dad always spoke well of Mr. Rankin and Mr. Houser.

Steve k Sorry about the confusion but I got the names confused. The person I was talking about was a Houser. His name was Dave Houser. He is the one who had the sister.
