Galaxy Club may have been owned or partially owned by a family named Dimitroula. Found the name of this club mentioned on the Rememberance pages and thought I could get further info going this route. Had never been there but had a good reputation for their food. Out along that way was also a dance club called the Rendevous where there was a live band. Anyone out there able to add further info on any of these mentioned?

My father's night club. His dream was to bring big name entertainment to Dayton. It was upscale with a big city chef. The entertainment was very costly. It did not last but 5 years. It broke his heart to close. He also owned the Simple Simon at Third and Jefferson and the Clickity Clack at Third and Wilkinson back in the 50's.

Davidwayne: were you any part of the Dimotroula family. I know Paula had alot of uncles and aunts and she too told me of a family member owning the Simple Simon and we had lunch there one day while going to cosmotology school.Another place was up a block from the school on Main st. that also was family owned and her aunt was a belly dancer there.

Davidwayne: Regarding Simple Simon's...in the early 60's I worked after school on Monday and Thursday nights at Beermans (for bargains) and went every night on my break to Simple Simon for one or sometimes two "Simple Burgers." There was a cook/manager their, think his name was Gene...Yeah, it was 50 years ago, but was that his name? What ever happened to him? Or is my memory faulty?
