Name of the pool hall was Red White and Blue Pool where they had both pool and billiard tables. 1957-58 I frequented the place a lot during that period as my hang out was downtown Dayton. I used to sit on the Wall of the Courthouse at 3rd and Main and go to dances above the Victoria Theater on a weekend night.

steve364 Pizza parlor I think was village pizza. And the red white and blue pool hall was above the RKO State theater. I lived there in the 60's. Went to Chaminade and went there every day after school. And did the same in the summer.

rodat6 I'll bet our paths crossed because I was a regular at the red white and blue and the courthouse wall. As a matter of fact I used to go there with a guy named George Ames who was a nephew to the Ames family who owned the pool hall. I just remembered that when you were done shooting a game of nine ball you would thump your que stick on the wooden floors and call for a rack. George was one of the rack boys.

There was also a pool hall on Salem Ave. where we used to go in the 60's. It may have been turned into a slot car track or else the slot car track moved in next door. I can't really remember. Does anyone else remember this?
Thanks.

There were two other places to shoot pool downtown. One was on west Fourth st. just past Ludlow st. it was in the basement of an upscale bar. I just remember going there when I was a teen and watching the best pool player I had ever seen. His name was George Rood and he either played straight pool or 3 rail billards. There was a man and his name was Ray Stewart who was pretty good. If that name sounds familar he owned The Oakwood Club. Other pool hall was on East Second St. I think it was in the 100 block. It was upstairs Coors 29 not to be confused with the bar on Fourth St.
