Years ago my daughter was a nursing assistent at this care facility for the aging. She liked her job and the people in her care. Does anyone know if this place still exists? May have been out on Salem ave or near that area.

LMD. Yes, it still exists. My sister also worked there an aide back in the late 70s as part of her schooling at the then MCJVS (now MCCTC). She is still in nursing. I was an EMT with Trotwood Rescue back in the 80s. So I was in and out of the place a lot. Emma, Brunner Hall, Lourdes and Fatima Hall where the retired nuns lived. 4830 Salem is the exact address. It did at one time have some sort of connection with Good Sam hospital. Whether it does now or not, I do not know. I do remember that up on Brunner Hall, which was semi independent living. There was a large ornate and old grandfather clock. In the middle of the night you could hear it tick from several yards away. Every time we went there. I would always walk past it very slowly. Trying to figure out how to get it downstairs and in the back of a truck to take home! Never did though! Just thought about it! But I saw the good and the not so good sides of the entire complex.

My daughter worked there 1995-1997. She did have a few stories of her own but as we learned over the years no retirement center is without its problems. She was very protective of those who were her patients. She worked on the second shift so things seemed to run somewhat smoother as people would be getting cleaned up, powdered and puffed and ready for bed.
