This is a REAL long shot, but I'm going to ask it anyway (in a few places).
Does anyone know where to find (or maybe even remember) a Steve Canyon episode where Summer Olson's kid was jailed in Turkey?
I have looked and couldn't find it.
I vividly recall the last frame of the strip and that incident. It has (suddenly) come to mind dozens of times over the years, and I don't remember the story. ---------- Honest Communications Is The Foundation of Civilizations.

When did Oakwood have him? He was born in Hillsboro (they've preserved the house where he was born) and went to Stivers high school. As an adult I understand (I may be wrong here) he reportedly lived on some street near Great Miami boulevard and of course eventually made his home in New York. ---------- Honest Communications Is The Foundation of Civilizations.

Not sure when he moved to Oakwood and I knew he was not born there. He was there in the 50s and it probably had to do with being near a major paper for syndication. I believe he lived on Orchard dr.

Try this link RG. There are a lot of links for Steve Canyon out there. I read him growing up in Dayton, but didn't realize how popular he was.http://www.toonopedia.com/canyon.htm

Thanks, rdebross. I guess it pops in mind because of all the hostages situations.
Olds88, biographies say he was syndicated by the Associated Press. That wouldn't cancel out a spot near Great Miami boulevard earlier than that.
Trolleyfan, I went through that site and it's more biographical like Wikipedia.
