Does any one remember this Bar in the Salem Mall? I worked at the Metropolitan in the mall during highschool and when I was home on college breaks. We would go there on our breaks for a beer. Also was a great bar on the weekends. Mona and the group "Stagefright" played there a lot. A lot of good times we had until the "scenery" changed and it had to be shutdown because of the trouble and group that started to come in.

I was too young for the Tijuana Lounge, however after the bar closed down, the Funway Freeway arcade moved from the location outside the mall (next to Winter's Bank) into the Tijuana Lounge location. I spent a lot of time there after that. I grew up within walking distance of the mall, so it was always the place to be. It was really sad seeing the mall deteriorate over the years.

Yes, I worked at the Met from 67-69. Was your husbands name Tom and he drove a hot Nova, My name is Alan Martin. Bob Brandenburg, Tim Adam, Denny Noreikas and I all worked there at the time. I had a 66 GTO that I inherited from my brother who went to the Navy at the time. I went to Chaminade and worked in Mens Furnishings at the MET. I know Tom will remember me. I believe you had long brown hair and were a nice looking girl. The memories of working at the Met will always be with me. I hope to hear back from you. I live in Cincy with my wife of 27 years.

Alan69 - Yep... that be us!!I've hooked up with 3 people from the good old days thru this website... This is a great site - especialy when you dont live in Ohio anymore and sometimes get homesick for the good old days in Dayton. Tom and I have been married for 40 years!! - living in Montana now. Only get back to Dayton about every 2 years. Lots of good memories of hanging out at Salem Mall with friends who worked at Liberal Market, and you guys at the Met. I'm sure Tom probably bought his "Gant" shirts and "London Fog" white windbreaker from you guys at The Met - that was the popular item then. Good hearing from you
