Does anyone have any information about a place in Dayton, in the 1920's that was called "House of Hope? It was for unwed women.

I think it was on Findlay Street. I was doing genealogy research and found births a doctor recorded in groups of 5 or 6, several times, in this timeframe. The mothers' names were listed and the fathers' "unknown."

Jonelle, Could you tell me where to find this information? I have heard that my mother had a baby here back in 1920. Thanks

Downtown at the Reibold Building:
Montgomery County Vital Records Office
Bureau of Vital Statistics
Open week days 8:00 to 4:30
937-496-3117

If I were you, I'd call first and see if the birth records during the 1920s can be scanned through, either in their big, old register books they keep or possibly by the mother's name on microfilm or some other way.
Good luck. Keep us posted, please.
