Does anyone remember the village inn pizza that used to be down from the Northwest Beermans shopping center? It sure had great pizza and I always loved the atmosphere. The showed old movies in a dining area toward the back and as a child I can remember getting a baloon on a stick off of a big animal I believe a wooden giraffe out in front by the doors and a fire place in the dining area. My first pizza I ever ate very likely from there. I also remember there being a rollerskate rink and the Salem Drive Inn down the street by the old Salem Avenue First Church of God near Klepinger.

I remember going to a Village Inn around Salem back in the early 70s after Gems games or wrestling shows at Hara. It was a lot of fun.

There was also a Village Inn on Smithville Rd. I believe it is now a Cadillac Jack's.

The Village Inn on Siebenthaler is now some kind of church or it was the last time I drove by.

I think you guys finally managed to come up with somewhere I have never been. I can remember going to Vic & Mom's and getting a Sausage, Cheese and anchovies Pizza for $1.85, other than that my favorite Pizza was Tiny Tim’s on Wayne Ave and the # 1 best in the world was from the Shed on Brown Street. But I was just a kid, so who knows how any of it would taste today?

I loved going to the Village Inn back in the late 60's early 70's. Pizza, beer and a fire in the fireplace...it was all good.

We used to bowl on Friday nights at Bowlero (now closed) and we'd stop at the Village Inn for beer and pizza before heading home.

There's not much in that area anymore. The movie theater, Cinema North I believe, has been closed for years but the building is still there. Elder-Beerman is still in Northwest shopping plaza but not much else since Kroger moved to a strip mall down the street where the skating rink and the rear of the Salem drive-in used to be.

Next time I'm out that way, I'll check and see if anything is located in the old Forvm building.

We lived in one of the houses across from KVI (Kettering Village Inn) in the early 1980's. It was handy of course, but we also liked the food. They had various "two for one" coupons, and the waitresses would always give them back to us to use again and again. One day we looked out the window, and smoke was pouring from the building. As we watched, the fire department trucks pulled up, and men got out, but did nothing about the fire. Finally, I walked across the street to see what was going on, and was told that because Kettering had a volunteer fire department, the men on the scene could not do anything until the Chief showed up, and he was at some sort of fire chief luncheon in Miamisburg. It was almost 20 minutes before a hose was hooked up or anything done to stop the fire.

That fire seemed to be a turning point for the restaurant, and I don't think they ever recovered from it. While the were able to re-open, they never seemed to have the packed house and waiting line to get in like they used to. They eventually closed, and the building has been used for several other restaurants since.

I remember going to the Village Inn, at least I pretty sure that is where we went. You see, my sister, and her husband, a couple that were friends, and my wife and I would all get together on Friday or Saturday nights, to have pizza, beer, and sing the songs with the little band that was there. We had loads of fun and a good time for all! Didn't cost an arm and leg either! Couldn't do it today though, the cops would be lined up outside just waitin' for you! Sure is "sad" the way things are these days, you can't have any fun at all!!

The one and only Village Inn (in mine and others opinion) was the one on Siebenthaler, bar none in the late 60's and 70's. The atmosphere and live music were great!
