Does anyone know about the history of this place, when it was built, infamous residents, etc. Is it even still standing?

It was still standing as of 5-6 years ago. If I recall, it was being used as some sort of drug treatment facility at that time. You could see the main building if you were in the grandstand of the old, now long gone, Dayton Speedway. I was always intrigued by the shape of the main building.
Sorry, I know nothing of it's history.

Victoryopera I just happened to run across a thread on this board from Feb 20,2010, titled "Dayton City Work House 1920" that gives some history of the place.
