A friend of mine in HS ('75-'78) had a white '69 Comet, 289 2bbl, three on the tree, and NOBODY would race him across the Keowee st. bridge. Guys in Camaros and Mopars would look the other way when he rolled in. He'd go through a set of Kelly Springfields in one day. Just something about that car. It would lock up and go...telephone pole to telephone pole, anyway.

Glad to see some hunt69 posts!!

Frisches is the only franchise left that still has rights to the Big Boy name. All the other Big Boys are under Bobs and any new ones are Bobs Big Boy. Shoneys and the rest are no longer Big Boy restaurants.

I owe the way I sign my name to Frisches- There was a boy in my 5th grade class that wore a Frisches T-shirt and I liked the way the 'F' was scripted, so I sort of adopted it, put my own flair on it and have done it the same way for nearly 40 years!

cilla46 - I don't remember any names of our mutual friends from back then (69-71) but ask him if he went with the group down to Ft Lauderdale for Easter Break probably in 70 or 71. Don (Egyptian) several of his employees and a couple other friends trailered some choppers and drove a couple vettes down for Easter break.

Still some Frisches around. Kettering has two and Moraine has one.May still be one out north on needmore. Used to frequent the one on Woodman Dr but they went out years ago due to a law suit which Im sure was perpetrated by the customer who found a mouse in something they ordered.Believe the one you might remember was on corner of Brown and Stewart st and yes there was also a Frisches at corner of Main and Nottingham.

That would be the Frisches on Keowee. Up the street from McCooks, just before the Keowee St bridge over the river. Hung out there a LOt in 68-72.

The place where the cars would roll through, doing burnouts and had rent-a-cops was Parkmoor. The Parkmoor was on the northeast corner of Nottinham Rd. and Main st., in the Forest Park shopping center parking lot. Across Main St. was Hasty Tasty and that is where it wasn't "cool" to be. The Parkmoor was a jumpin' place. I spent many hours there.

Tried to post this last night and got pissed as site said code was invalid and erased my post. Trying again. I hate this software.
Frisches on Keowee and Parkmoor on N Main were both hot spots. That was part on my cruise route from 67-72. Country Kitchen in Kettering, then Frisches on Keowee, then Parkmoor at Forest Park, then back to Keowee, back to Kitchen, Repeat as necessary. Parkmoor closed around 69-70. I also hit the Parkmoor on Airways and Woodman. Occasionally I would go to the Frisches or Parkmoor in Moraine.

Back in early 60s we did the same thing but it was Parkmoor on shroyer then to country kitchen. Good thing as gas was way cheaper then.
