A Message from DHBO Founder, Curt Dalton
Today, I am personally asking you to make a donation to support Dayton History Books Online.
I started Dayton History Books Online in 2004, and over the past six years, I've been amazed and humbled to see thousands of people use the site. This is especially true of DHBO’s blog.
DHBO’s blog is a community creation, entirely written by people like you. You have helped create a meeting place where like-minded friends can get together and talk. You have helped create this place, this home. At this point of time there are an estimated 475 questions that have been raised and over 8,000 memories recalled, some answers being quite rich in detail.
I believe we are friends and DHBO is a scrapbook we are building together. One person writes something, somebody answers back and adds to the story. The shared memory of Dayton keeps getting better every day, over time. If you find it valuable today, imagine how much we can accomplish together in 5, 10, 20 years.
Think of this as a contribution to your grandchildren. Imagine a place where they can come and read your personal memories of Dayton. That’s where we’re headed. And with your help, we will get there.
Thank you for using DHBO. You're part of its story: please make a donation today.

This message board was created to give students and researchers the ability to ask and answer history questions they might have about Dayton. Questions will also be given to local historians and researchers who are willing to donate some time in helping find answers. Questions about genealogy are discouraged. It may take some time before a question can be answered. And, due to the nature of history, some questions may never be able to be answered. We ask that all questions pertain to Dayton, Ohio history only. DHBO reserves the right to delete any questions or comments for any reason. That being said, this board is sure to bring up subjects that lovers of Dayton's history will enjoy discussing, and hopefully we will all learn something about this city's wonderful past.
