Remembrances

Welcome to "Personal Remembrances"
While the "Dayton Memories Blog" here on DHBO is a fun way to share what we remember about the Gem City, "Personal Remembrances" is geared for longer stories that focus on a single memorable event. We ask that these stories be at least 200 words - more would be great! Others may leave short comments after they have read the story, but if you are inspired by what you read here, we encourage you to start a new topic with the heading of a story of your own. Please leave more than one story if you like.
This project is an attempt to preserve the history of Dayton and the surrounding Miami Valley as viewed through the eyes, experiences, and memories of people who lived here at some point in their lives. Capturing experiences and memories is invaluable. A project involving personal stories is an exciting way to provide others the opportunity to "feel" what the Dayton area was once like, and makes the learning of history much more "hands-on".
The hope is that visitors here will read and write revealing, moving, funny stories about their lives that give a different perspective on what it was like living here 20, 30 or even 50 years ago. An ambitious project? Perhaps so, but what a fascinating and exciting venture it will be!
