This was such a big treat for us as kids. I think my mom always had a Charlie Chips chip can on top of our refridgerator for as long as I remember.
Candy was cheap and driver was always a happy and patient guy!

Believe they delivered Charlie Chips and also pretzels to your door.Believe I have an old can in my garage that I store nails and other odds and ends in.

A few years ago my wife and I took a trip to Vermont. At a country store there, they had Charles Chips tins prepacked with a bag of chips. Apparently Charles Chips is still a big brand on the east coast.
These tins were not the big, heavy, texturally painted cans we all remember from the 1960s. These tins were lightweight and cheap. Still, it is a nice souvenir.
