Don't know when the post office moved to Airway, but I'm pretty sure it was there when I moved back to the area in 1981.

It was on Airway behind where the McDonalds classic place was, and where that ?(Pinkies)? drive thru used to be. Was like a generic Rally`s. Not sure on that name Pinkies though.

Yes, there was a drive-thru place there called Pinkies. The building was orignally that of a chain very similar to Rallys/Checkers, I think it was "Hot N' Now" or something similar. After that folded, there was at least one other restaurant there before Pinkies. The place I'm thinking of had good ribs, but it only lasted a couple years. As I recall, the building sat empty for a while before Pinkies gave it a go.

tlturbo, I remember the Airway Barbershop which was run by a fellow by the name of Mark Grilliot. That is where I got my hair cut. I still have the hairbrush that I purchased there (way back when), and I remember a little incident with Mark while I was sitting in his chair.
I remember the Grant's store and that 49er restaurant at the NW corner of Airway and Harshman Rds. That restaurant burned severely one night and is, probably, the reason it turned into a used car lot.
Someone mentioned Beerman's in Eastown. That burned, too, once upon a time as did Throckmorton's in the Spin-Kemp Plaza back in the late 60s.
I have a question for PaulH: did you have any connection to a service station on Kemp/Burkhardt Rd?
