Does anyone remember when WONE RADIO used to hide the(W).. and have a contest with clues to find it for prize money ?. we found it one time.... Or Bob Shrieve's all night movies on channel 7 and channel 9 on the weekend's ?.

Remember it well. The W was supposedly hidden by the riddler or puzzler, and, to keep legal with the FCC, the "thief" would come on at station ID time and say "only I can say W ONE". Fun times!

WING had a similar contest at some point, I think in the mid/late 60s. The "W" was stolen off one of their towers at their Kettering transmitter.

I remember the missing W contest, but for some reason I was thinking it was WAVI That ran it. I remember one time it was hidden in the YWCA sign at 3rd and Wilkinson. I also remember Bob Shrieve and his dumb rubber chicken..Good times.
