I was wondering if the Ohmer Park area is now considered part of Walnut Hills. I went to Ohmer Park UM church for about 4-5 years. At the time, I lived in West Carrollton. I remember there being a wooden sign on Wyoming St where Steve Whalen Blvd ends that said something about Walnut Hills and Ohmer Park. After moving to Dayton in the last year, I've noticed that the sign is gone. Is Ohmer Park considered a separate neighborhood or is it part of Walnut Hills now? My wife's family lives on Carlisle and my father in law said that the area from Highland to Arbor was considered Ohmer Park.

JHibb. I go through that area a lot. I know the street sign that I see for Highland Ave, there is a smaller sign on top of it that say Walnut Hills. This is at the Wayne Ave end of Highland. Arbor is still one way from Wayne to Wyoming.

Dayton is made up of MANY neighborhoods, and for reason, they don't mention them by name like they use to. Maybe people don't have pride in their neighborhood like they use to. I grew up in Belmont and not ashamed of it.

No need for anyone to be ashamed of their neighborhoods back then and although some have changed many have remained old but nice and many well kept. As a kid we would go to walnut hills as it had a nice sized wading pool. Have no idea today how to get there but would love to see it again. Am sure the pool is long gone.
