I only knew him through his relationship with his wife. I saw a photo of him cutting the grass next door at Wolf Creek Soap Company where my cleaned up.
I went to his wedding and met him there.
He will be missed.

Sad to say but at our ages just about everyone we grew up on are now gone. You could sit around and have an evening of family entertainment. Try to find that kind of comedy today. Vulgar and nasty is the tone for the day. If things don't turn themselves around I may go back to bunny ears for an antenna and save myself some money.

Luv, You're right! Every day, it seems we lose another one. Yesterday, it was Esther Williams. What nice clean entertainment she always gave us! She was truly, "America's Mermaid" I'm thinking the same thing about TV. It seems to be all SEX, SEX and more SEX. They are permitted to say anything and there's no story line without it. Remember when Jack Paar lost his job in 1960 for saying "water closet" on his late night show. Jonathan Winters was so funny. You could count on him for a good clean show where if he did say anything off color, you had to use your imagination a little..

Believe the Winters family opened the Winters Bank that we all grew up with. Many banks since then have come and gone and hard to keep up with them. Jonathan was an amazing personality and when he came on the entire family gathered together. Don't have much of that going on these days.

I remember my father telling me that he was friends with Jonathan Winters and he used to hang out at my family's bar, Sutter's. I think Jonathan's wife gave my mother my baby book, I'll have to check because she signed it.
