Anyone remember the soft pretzels Warehouse Beer Drive-thru sold way back when? A lot of people claimed they were the best in Dayton.

I remember one on Valley street which I believe is still there since the late 60's. there also used to be one next to the Roy Rogers and Frisch's on Keowee.

I worked at that craphole for two days. Those "pretzels" were nothing but frozen. People liked them when they were high on drugs.

BTW, they tried to get away with not paying me for my two days. Had to go to Fair Wage and Labor to make them pay. Also jonesed on them pretty good while working there. lol!!

I use to manage the Warehouse Beer Drive-in on E. Third & June Streets back in 1976. We stocked more Pepsi than any other soft drink and more PBR than any other beer... by far. Also had our share of Gibson white port for the alkies walking in from the alley. Later I transferred to the Watervliet drive-in tucked back off the street. Oh, and the pretzels were delicious.

gris66, did you work with a guy named Phil at the Warehouse Beer? Think my uncle worked there about that time. Was convenient because he could stop in and check on my granny who lived on Ringold St. And yes, the pretzels were special indeed!

Well, Faith, I worked at WB for about 6 months before I moved on. I could have worked with Phil but it has been so long ago I wouldn't be able to remember. Sorry.

I think each drive-thru was staffed by two full-time workers and one part-timer. I believe the places were owned by a father and son - Swaim - the younger one was an attorney.
