Several in town but remember one that was on Wilmington pike near Dorothy lane.Seems like where the GFS store is now. While you waited you could eat peanuts and throw the shells on the floor.

Yeah, another casual, sit-down chain serving very average food that went belly-up. There was also a GR on 741 near the Dayton Mall.

For a few years, there was Ribfest (Aug?) in the parking lot of the Nutter Center. Each year it seemed to get smaller, but I knew it was done when the Ground Round won the title of "Best Ribs".

Yes, I remember both, The Ground Round and Ribfest at The Nutter Center. We really enjoyed that festival and the outdoor entertainment, bands that already had their "hey day" like Blue Oyster Cult and Pat Benatar.

Another BOC fan? Outstanding! I saw them in concert at least three times. Back in 77, I saw Foghat, UFO, and BOC in Ft. Worth, TX. How's that for an evening's entertainment?

The Dayton Mall GR was next door to the Red Lobster. They were unique... Bar on one side, restaurant on the other, big screen TV (only one of two in the area), peanuts, dance floor and a stage. I saw a comedian there one, and a band on new years eve. That's pretty elaborate for such a small restaurant. Aldo had a popcorn machine, was great to go with the beer. I vaguely remember there being a complimentary sundae for kids. They also gave you a free meal on your birthday and a free drink on your 21st.
