The Ignatz Hamerschlob character was played by Jack Jacobson (AKA Nosey the Clown). He played a doorman at a ficticious movie theater. He would introduce that nights movie and give a rundown on it.

Now, I remember the scenario! I had forgotten the movie theater marquee.

Jacobson left Dayton for Arizona in the 60s, and had a good run in TV out there as well. Don't remember if it was Phoenix or Tucson, but I know he did a "Dr Creep" kind of character as a monster movie host. I remember reading his obit several years ago.

Yes. He was at Channel 7 on Club 13 aka "The Lucky 13 Ranch". Jack went on a USO tour with Ernie Lee, The Trailhands, Freddie Langdon, The Geer Sisters, and Brownie Reynolds (These were many people from Midwestern Hayride). I think their were a few more but I will have to check my records. The USO Tour was called "The Ernie Lee Show" and Jack played the role of a German cowboy. I am fortunate enough to have the recording of most of the show. My great grandfather was the accordion player for The Trailhands (they were also on club 13).

I always thought that Ignatz and Ferdie Fussbudget were played by the same person--Ken Hardin.
