My husband grew up in Northridge, he is tellng me to remind people of some of his favorite memories: walking thru storm drain that started at Bargain Barn and came out in the middle of the traffic circle; fishing in gravel pits that are now part of Wegerzyn Garden lakes; variety store at North Dixie and Hillsdale; Golden Point hamburgers - N Dixie and Keenan;all you can eat shrimp night at a restaurant on an access road across from traffic circle - what was its name(?). Later, when we were married and went bar-hopping (70's & 80's) we are trying to remember the names of all the joints on N. Dixie - also knew a DJ (Jim Lee) that played at several spots on the strip... anybody know what happened to him? We live in Montana now - but still get back to Dayton on visits every couple of years

I also fished at the Keenan Ave gravel pit in the late 1940's. Very steep banks in most places but had lot of fun and wet feet there. When I fished there Keanan Ave was called Lisle Ave.

My ex and I used to go to the dance clubs on Dixie in the early 80s. A couple of the ones we frequented were Peppers and Scalleys (not sure of the spelling). Later in the early 90s, I went to the Living Room off the traffic Circle.

A quarter midget track opened in the late 50's or early 60's at Needmore and N Dixie. The Kroger fuel station is located almost in the same location. It was called the Thimbledrome.

I know the track was still there in the early to mid 70's. Maybe it stayed there until the North Star closed.

Wow! What a trip back in time. I refreshed a lot of memories looking at these pictures along N. Dixie. One of my first jobs out of high school, was working for Ben's Barttery and Generator Service when it s just across the bridge on tge left. But, I remember a lot of those places. Thank you for those.
