Would imagine since Dayton had thousands of soldiers in the civil war and the fact that a military home for the disabled was built in the west side along with the veteran cemetary they used civil war battle names when createing the streets close to that area.

The streets mentioned by newsnot are in the Arlington Heights neighborhood. In addition to the streets noted, there is also Chicamauga, Chicahominy and Resaca - I wonder if Chicamauga, Chicahominy and Kenesaw were intentionally misspelled?
I tried to do a history search on this neighborhood that would reference the Civil War connection, but all I found was current demographic information, housing information, etc. Hopefully someone else can provide more information that would connect the neighborhood street names to the nearby Dayton VA Medical Center and/or the Dayton National Cemetery. [Note - The VA website has some interesting historical information on the Dayton Soldiers Home.]

newsnot - My reference to the misspelling of the historic battlefields was not with regards to your post. I looked up the area on Google Maps and saw the misspellings, and I saw it again on the website I researched on the Arlington Heights neighborhood, so apparently that is how the street names are spelled.
I apologize if my response seemed like I was a schoolteacher critiquing your post. That wasn't the intent of my comment.
