During the summers of the late 50's, early 60's, my buddies and I would camp out in someone's back yard, usually in Oakwood. Then about 2-3AM, we'd head to Woody's to buy snacks. Occasionally, one of us would get the star on the back of the receipt, which meant your groceries were free.

I loved Woody's! I remember going there before a lot of family parties (wedding showers, birthdays, etc.) to get their deli meat. It was always a treat to go to Woody's and see their store that spanned over the road.

Anyone know what happened to Tom Weitzel (sp?) West Carrollton class 69? He lived near the NW corner of Alex Bell and Springboro.

Many businesses kept the bakery busy as no one celebrated their birthdays without one of their cakes. We would pretty much have a birthday each month and couldn't wait to have another cake to eat. They were excellent and there may be a few of the creators of these cakes still around somewhere.
