Still hard to believe the event even happened. I have never been to the islands but know numerous people who have gone and visited the memorial. They all have said it was a very emotional experience.

I visited the USS Arizona Memorial in 1980. I agree that it is a very emotional experience, looking at the long list of names inside the memorial of the men that died that day. The memorial is above the wreckage of the destroyed ship - I found it interesting that the ship was still causing an oily film on the water, even after all those years.
