I left Dayton in Jan 72 and back then our lives revolved around cruising the Country Kitchen, Frisches on Keowee, Parkmoor on N Main and Airways and someplace down in Moraine and a few places out of Dayton when we got bored. I'm guessing the street scene dropped off after the muscle car era and some of these places closed.

Country kitchen and Parkmoor on shroyer were our cuisine places. Traffic out on the street to get in. If there was a parking spot we would grab it and stay awhile but were careful to order something so we werent ordered off the lot. That was back when gas was cheap and that wouldn't work today as the driving back and forth would have broke your parents budget. GOOD TIMES and great memories. Place mentioned in Moraine is still there and still Frisches. Boyfriend back then was being cool for his friends and layed rubber pulling out onto the street where an officer was waiting for some hotshot. Needless to say he gave my friend a ticket which immediately made him not so cool.

LMD-Who was your friend that had enough car to 'peel"out of Parkmoor.Between Oakwood and Dayton those cops had a field day.None had big engines and were easily 'ditched"I used to get there early to get a spot and would not leave until late unless a race might develop which I was ready.

Late night Angelos was the best.Used to race out of there once in awhile.River road was my favorite and Dryden was not bad.For some reason we sat in side more than out.Rember one time a guy named Donny shalf ran a bike down 25 that was a world land speed record holder and the tire was ten inches wide it had to be pushed by car to start. One of the guys got involved in a shooting there and the business sort of changed.

olds88We have to know each other. I wasgood friends with Donny Schaff as a matter of fact I bought one of my first bikes off Donny, it was a 1948 Harley pan head tank shift.Another friend of ours bought the MC you were talking about and we used to run it at Kill-Kare.The bike was called the 'BEAST'. The guy who was shot his name Was Donny Barnes and I was there the night he was shot. By a guy from Miamisburg. The mc that we talked about was built by Chet Herbert an old drag racer and he also made cams back in the day. "GREAT MEMORIES"

olds88 You are talking about Russ Harville who was a good friend and he later became the city manager. Russ is doing fine, I just saw him about two weeks ago. I think his name was spelled Skonzakas whose last name is now Street.
