Hello!

Does anyone have any memories of Kramer's? I went there while at UD so many times and it was great even just a few years ago. I know the place has been around a long time and I would love to hear any stories!

Kramers has been a fixture in the area for decades. There used to be a swimming pool behind it called Oakday I believe. We then graduated to the age where we could go hang with the big guys at Kramers. Kids from all high schools would go there. This was back in late 50's early 60's. Fairmont class of 61 had there 50th class reunion several years ago and Kramers was on the agenda. As long as there's a UD there will be a Kramers. GOOD TIMES!!!

I liked "Happy Hour" at Kramers. Beer by the quart, and free food, back in the late 70's.

There's a story about Kramer's in the Dayton Daily news today. Looks like they have good pizza!

Jeff Pitsinger,a friend, was a part time bartender there in the 80's. Sadly, he passed away last year. Anyone remember him?

They do have good pizza and the rest of their food is quite good.Back in the 50"s & 60'sit was a hang out for the football and basketball players. Bucky Bockhorn used to have a party for his friends almost every year and it was always a good time. Bucky was a class act and boy did he have the stories. "GREAT MEMORIES"

driver62 - I surely do remember Jeff! He was a dear friend of mine since I first met him in 1970 when I started working at SRL (Systems Research Labs) in Beavercreek. He was our photographer and I was in the Graphics Dept. He took me to my first Mardi Gras. He introduced me to the "get drunk and play music loud" record party and turned me on to so much great music. We played on a softball team called the Slugs, organized at Kramers (or the Big K Supperclub, as he used to call it). He became a member of the American Legion Post 675 and was bar manager for a number of years. And that's where we celebrated his life the afternoon of his memorial service, November 21, 2013 - 21-gun salute and flag ceremony.

StephenD - I knew another guy very well at SRL. I believe his name was Dale Fox, remember him?

As for Jeff, he went to Mardi Gras about every year and was a die hard Cleveland Browns fan. I was a Bengals fan and we had a lot of fun arguing about which team was better.

He'd tell me stories about the annual Christmas tree hunt. They always went to the guy at the fairgrounds and bought the ugliest tree they could find.

Even though I hadn't seen Jeff in years I still consider him a good friend. May he RIP.

Yep, I worked with Dale in Corporate Communications Dept. with him and Jeff and a bunch of other good folks. Jeff was the greatest!

I remember Jeff quite well as we dated for a short time
a long time ago after meeting as students together at
the Dayton Art Institute. He was a great guy and always
a gentleman. I just learned of his passing and I have
been bummed out all day. If anyone can tell any more memories of him I would appreciate it.
Thank you
