I lived in this WWII housing project from 1947-1954. It was across Airway Road from Daniel's Market and next to Kaufmann Ave. Patterson Field, Area A, was across the NYC tracks from us. I remember school mates with last names of Benton, Roberts, Roof, Farmer, Lai, Guinn, Wilheit, and Tyzzer. I remember only first names of some: Regina and Herman. If anyone out there lived there, this is a start.

Not sure if this is the same place, BUT I have distinct memories from about 1950 era of a large base housing complex on the West side of where Kaufmann and Colonel Glenn (probably was called Airway back then) met just before the railroad tracks. My dad worked at WPAFB and I was about 4-5. We went to a gym there to watch someone he knew play basketball. We lived in Fairborn and a neighbor also had a store in the little strip of stores across Airway. Transferred to Memphis about 1953-4 and when we moved to Beavercreek from Memphis in 60 it had all been torn down but all the roads were still there and the Corvette Club would hold Autocross races on them.

Hey dcreep, you didn't happen to work on Kettering Blvd many years ago did you?

No, I never worked at Kettering Blvd. Most of my early life was spent in Mad River Twp. I got my first bicycle at the Western Auto-type of store near Airyway Road in Skyway Park
