On the DHB Facebook page it was recently mentioned that a local theater (now demolished) was known as The House Of Fright for 2 years in the early 60's. From what I gather, the owner had the idea that a movie theater based off horror and monster movies would be a good draw. It changed names and formats after two years. Still, I can find no other place in the world where this was attempted.
Does anyone here have any memories of this theater when it existed as "The House Of Fright"? Pictures would also be appreciated.

The "House of Fright" was located on the SW corner of Richard St. and St. Paul Ave., in the old St. Paul Theater. Between horror flicks, the owner would slide down a zip line dressed as a monster, then would disappear through a trap door on stage. Both of my olderr sisters worked there.
