winterfritz, Rat, done a quick search on Cadlerock Joint Ventures LTD. All I found was page after page of litigation??

Looks like rat is awol for the day hopefully he will turn up with some answers. Although I have no childhood memories of the place, I too would hate to see it destroyed.

I found this link, it truly does have a lot of history behind it.

joanofthe60s... I think a lot of that litigation is just normal business dealings for a mortgage company. I may have overlooked something but I don't see any cases that are relevant or specific to the church property. I'm thinking the property may be in receivership. Thanks for posting the history link, I had that link and have been meaning to post it.

I attended and was married in the EUB church on Troy Street back in 1960. I moved away but heard it was sold. Just wondering who bought it if anyone knows. I loved that church.

Cjguitar I went to the Troy Street EUB church until about 1961. In 1961 I left Dayton for the Air Force. I left the Air Force in 1965 and have lived in the Springfield area since then. I was in Dayton awhile back and noticed a new name on the church, but I cannot remember what it was. I was in Dayton today and stopped by to see. The church sign was gone and a blank plywood sign was all that was there. The preacher’s house is for sale, but still looks occupied. The church was locked up and I could not get inside. It still looks great and is well maintained. It was built in 1904.

I wanted to resurrect this thread and refer back to an earlier post about St. Adalbert catholic church on Valley St. I go past it daily. In the past few weeks I've noticed that the entire front, doors and steps, along with part of the parking lot are enclosed with the plastic construction/snow fence. I though maybe at first they were going to do something remodeling/rebuilding. But weeks having gone by and not seeing any activity. Does anyone know if the building has a structural problem and the building is not able to be occupied? Something else going on? Hopefully not prep work for demolition. I just haven't seen any sign of activity there in months. The sign out front says there is a daily mass at 8 am. I come through there around 7:45 and there appears to be nothing going on. Did it close? Just wondering.

The Old North Dayton Catholic churches are very historic and interesting. Definitely worth checking out!
