My old 60 year old brain is having trouble remembering where Riverdale was or is???

jack1971..I am right here and I just solved your mystery (I think) of the Roosevelt High School construction project on the other thread...Oh, you mean the area of town called Riverdale? Well if you head out Main street going North and cross over the bridge by the Fire Headquarters at Monument Avenue, you have just entered the land of Riverdale. There is many differences of opinion on where Riverdale ends, but I think I can safely say without too much resistance that it encompasses all of the area east and west of Main Street all the way up to at least Helena Street. Careful not to go too far west though or you get into areas like Riverview and Five Oaks. BTW, don't worry about your 60 year old brain having trouble remembering, we all have that trouble from time to time and that's why we all work to support each other here in the land of reminiscing ..take care.

Thanks rat. I was born and raised Dayton and spent most of my time in Huber and North Dayton, Colonel White area, but don't recall ever hearing about Riverdale. Riverside, yes, but not Riverdale. Of course my memory isn't what it used to be!! lol
BTW you are correct about the charter school being in place of the old high school.
I believe it was a police HE between the closing of the high school and the charter school?

Looks like the old school was leveled in 2008, too bad the charter school couldn't have come along in time to use/save at least part of the the old Roosevelt building, but at least something new and vibrant is there now instead of just an empty field.

If my memory serves me which it may not LOL I think upper riverdale started north of helena
