What can anyone tell me about the old Hawthorne Melody Dairy on Salem Avenue near free pike. I remember going past it to and from church when growing up. Also loved going to Jed's Steakhouse on free pike in the 70's to many lost in the past great places.

All I know is the building is still standing but has been empty for many years.

We did have a good number of dairys back in the day, didn't we?

Does anyone remember the game called "name a dairy"? Hint - it involved the thumb and forefinger, some pressure, and would probably get a kid today severe consequenses. Back in the day, it was considered jejune tomfoolery.

The Dairy on Salem is set for demolition in 60 days, is word from the Board of the Harrison Township Trustees. So now is the time to take your last look or picture of it. No building no more.
