I had an uncle who was institutionalized in the Dayton area during the mid-to-late 1920s. Though my mother only has sparse childhood memories of her older brother, she thinks he was in some way cognitively impaired, or otherwise disabled. Her family lived in Tipp City at the time, and she remembers frequent visitation trips to Dayton.
Does anyone have a guess at where he would have been institutionalized?

I don't know much, but it might help if there was some idea of his age. If he was just a couple of years older than a young child, that's one thing; but, if she was say six or seven and he was ten years older, you're talking adult there.

Stillwater used to be a Tuberculosis Sanatorium in my era. There was a friend of my fathers who died there in the early/mid 60s. He worked for Delco.

Hi. I know there was once some kind of children's home on Summit Street that was in business back then. I don't know the name of it, and I know it's been demolished, but maybe it was the predecessor of Shawen Acres? You might be able to check their records.
